The Blue Ridge APA is owned by League Operator Vicki Catalano, along with her husband, League Manager Dave Catalano.  They come to Western North Carolina with a combined 8 years of experience as players in the APA and 3 years experience as an APA division representative.

Fat Cats Billiards teams that have qualified for the 2010 Annual Team Championship are Moe Hawks, A Steady Twitch, Rail Runners, Gravitational Pool, and Rock Movers.  These teams will compete with 19 other teams in the Blue Ridge APA for a chance to compete nationally in Las Vegas later this summer.  Good luck, Fat Cats Billiards teams!

About the APA

The American Poolplayers Association is the world’s largest amateur pool league & the governing body of amateur pool.  The emphasis is on amateur, as members play for fun and for the love of the game.

The local chapter, Blue Ridge APA, has over 500 members in Western NC and 85 teams competing every week in 8ball, 9ball, Masters, and a once-per-month ladies-only division.  In 2010, Blue Ridge APA will send 30 members to compete at national events in Las Vegas!  Will you be one of them?

"Equalizer" Handicapping System

APA Pool Leagues have a handicap system that makes it fun and fair for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you are just learning to hold a cue or if you compete in local tournaments.  Everyone can play, anyone can win!

The organization has an affiliate in Canada, the Canadian Poolplayers Association (CPA) and the Japanese Poolplayers Association (JPA). APA is a major sponsor of the Women's Professional Billiard Association Tour.
